This article isn’t about family heirlooms or stray buttons, things that have emotional value or that you just cannot seem to stand to part with. The fact is that whether you are looking for dumpster rental Raleigh, Orlando, Muskegon, or Boise there are certain substances which it will be a violation of both your contract with your dumpster rental agent and a violation of either state or federal laws to toss.
These substances commonly include: radioactive material, volatile material (typically corrosive or unusual chemicals), anything highly flammable or explosive, biomedical materials, infectious bio-mater (think mad cows), toxic material, or anything else that you would knowingly consider to be hazardous. Typically your dumpster rental experts will also cover their bases with a line including anything else deemed hazardous by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or any state agency connection to the Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976.
Now it is probably fairly unlikely that you are rolling too much nuclear waste out of your backyard. However, it is certainly possible and even likely that with a detailed cleaning out of a large storage area or a demolition job involving old asbestos will yield hazardous and unpleasant materials. While it may be tempting to simply chuck this into the bottom of the dumpster and send it to the dump, another line in your dumpster rental agreement makes this ill-advised (even apart from it being illegal to improperly dispose of these materials). This is “Title to and liability for any waste listed above shall remain with YOU the customer as you expressly agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless our company from and against any and all damages, penalties, liabilities, and fines resulting from or arising out of such hazardous waste.”
